New in our home, the Lato LN9 table and In Between chair by &Tradition. Without a doubt I can say &Tradition is one of my favorite brands. It has been with me for a long time, you’ve seen the Formakari lamp countless times on my Instagram feed. But the Flowerpot table lamp is still my favorite lamp around the house. It’s the first piece of design I bought and probably the cause of my lamp obsessions. I feel very fortunate and thankful &Tradition gifted me these beautiful pieces. These will be cherished for a lifetime.
The Lato table
Lato is a design by Luca Nichetto. It’s striking in it’s simplicity. It has a romantic and poetic feel to it, which I really appreciate. The marble has a beautiful oval shape and finds a good counterbalance with the more graphic steel oval-shaped table top. The marble is turned into shape on a lathe and thereafter honed to a semi matt finish. The frame is made from laser cut and milled powder coated steel.
At first glance, Lato resembles a sculpture, with its slim, oval or round table top balanced by an oval-shaped base. With Lato, Nichetto wanted to keep the simplicity and streamline into a timeless side table in a style that could easily be the centre of attention. I can’t wait to place this beauty in our living room in a few months – think it’s going to be a perfect match with the plans we have!Something that becomes more and more important to me. Maybe it has something to do with the fact I turned 30 last week, that I don’t care so much for trends and must have items anymore. I’m more interested in furniture that stays with me for a lifetime because of its design and quality.
The In Between chair
Inspired by the Scandinavian heritage of design and furniture craftmanship, In Between is a result of Sami Kallio’s solid grounding in traditional wood- working techniques and his eye for ingenious detail. It started with a single chair which later resulted in a series of furniture including both tables and chairs.
The In Between SK2 chair quickly became one of my favorites around the house ever since we received it. Feeling like it could be good match with our table and we might eventually save for a set of four or six for our dining table, what do you think? We’ve always have different chairs, so maybe it’s clean and more cohesive if we’d had the same set of chairs around the table. For now it’s standing in our bedroom, matching great with the new seagrass carpet!
Like I said, can’t wait to photograph these pieces in our soon to be living room. I have a feeling it will be the perfect match with our plans for downstairs. We’ll probably start breaking down the walls and next month! Something I’m very excited for.
But for now I’ll have to enjoy them on there temporary places – not really a hard job to do! What’s your favorite &Tradition piece, or, what’s on your wishlist!? Really curious to know
Have a great evening!
